First off, what do i say? I love Teixeira! It´s amazing! I haven´t even been here for long and i will explain the story.
So the southernmost city in Bahia is called Mucuri. I went there this weekend because a part of the Branch Teixeira De Freitas covers a couple members there. In church we had like 10 people maybe. But what happens is every 15 days, or 2 weeks, 2 of us Elders do a division and bus down to Mucuri for the weekend. This weekend was me and another Elder. My companion is Elder H. He is from Ogden and is the man! Haha we have a blast and laugh a lot. Anyways about Mucuri, we bussed down Saturday morning at like 6:00, 2 and a half hours south. Mucuri is so south that i was closer to Elder Kevin Roberts in Rio De Janeiro than my Mission President in Salvador. Just bussing from Itabuna to Teixeira was like 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, cause the bus took a few breaks or whatevs.
Mucuri was awesome. It´s small, and on the beach. We had a fun time working there And the members there are awesome. They include 2 families and i think 3 other members. They fed us and it is just such a testimony builder to see the faith these people have. Miles and miles away from ´their´ branch they gather every Sunday and have 2 meetings, one being sacrament meeting of course. They have 2 holders of the Holy Priesthood of Melquisedek and they are amazing. I loved working there.
So we worked Saturday and cleaned the building they meet in. It is a party/event house you can rent, but one of the members owns it. So we cleaned that up with Irmão Marcello lá, and then that night we slept in the church. Sunday morning we worked a little, had lunch and had church at 3 to 5. And at 5:30 we set off for home in Teixeira.
Anyways things are great. Other things to know are that we meet in a house here in Teixeira for church. the church rents the house though, so no one lives there or anything. We have 4 missionaries here in my district. My companion is also our Lider de Distrito. I love it here but it is super hot. But all is well.
