The other big thing we did last week was proselyte on Avenida Paulista. Man it seems like we went weeks ago but it was last Friday! So if you want to see the street on google earth or something search the Internet for Museu De Arte De São Paulo. It's a museum on Paulista. So we had four books of Mormon and 4 pamphlets and a huge sidewalk with thousands of people. My companion and I had a great time. The first guy we talked to was just on the street. I thought he wasn´t interested at first but he listened to us and wanted a book. So that was good. The next guy we talked to said he had a book of Mormon but hadn´t read it. We ended up leaving him the number to call more missionaries. haha then the crazy thing happened, we were almost past walking by the museum when some people started talking to us. Lots of tattoos and weird piercings. One guy had tattoos instead of eyebrows! Anyway, the girl with him started yelling at me and poking my chest after she found out that we were Mormons! It was kind of funny, i couldn´t get a word in edgewise. She was yelling something about hungry people on the street. Finally i was able to say have a great day and we left. After the crazy lady, who was also probably under the influence by the way, we were just walking down the sidewalk I felt really bad. I knew we needed to stop, we had to stop and pray or something. So we finally pulled off on the side of the side walk and then a woman approached us. She had seen us from a building and recognized us by our white shirts and ties! That was amazing because we were able to talk to her and give her a Book of Mormon. She had known the missionaries when she was a kid but had move or lost contact or something. Maybe her parents didn´t accept the gospel, but it was cool because she really wanted a book and more missionaries. We testified of the truthfulness of the book of Mormon and she said she knew she knew. She already knew! It was incredible because God helped her find us, He just had to tell us to stop walking.
We taught and gave the 2 other books to a guy on his break from work who said he believed in God but didn´t go to church and another guy we saw just chillin outside a building. He was old and knew God had blessed him with many blessings in his life. That was cool because we were able to tell him that was why God sent us. To continue to bless him! Then we gave our our pamphlets to a lady who wanted 2 of them. One for her and one for her niece who is a catholic missionary, hahaha. And another pamphlet to a college kid. He was really cool. The last pamphlet went to a taxi driver who was waiting for someone, and while he waited he was reading his Bible. It was hilarious. My companion leapt into the air. `You have a Bible? We have Bibles too!` He was a nice guy.
Anyway, I love being a missionary for God. He leads us, and guides people who need us to us. It was amazing how everyone we talked to was contacted just because we were in the right place at the right time. We could not have done anything without the spirit, and so i am grateful we had the spirit with us.
