19 March 2012

Well!  Here i am after one great week. I basically was sick all week, but don´t worry i do have stories to tell.

The week went on like this; Tuesday i had another test in the medical clinic, they took blood from me. And then i proceeded to work like a zombie. But Tuesday a tarde, we went to the rodoviária or bus station and caught a bus to porto seguro. We arrived in porto at 10 thirty ish at night. We stayed there in Porto until the next day. I was still sick but starting to feel better and slept on this tiny sofa there in the house of porto centro. It was terrible, but i slept better than i had been sleeping at home sick.

Wednesday we had the interviews and a training with the assistants to the president. President Vecchi was worried about my health because i had nice splotches on my skin and was nasty looking. but in reality by this day i was feeling better. The interview with president Vecchi was very good. My biggest concern that i talked to him about was some business about my progress you could say. I really feel ready to move on in this missionary work. I want to be a senior companion and i really like to lead and all. This transfer has been more difficult for me because i don´t clash with Elder Ramos, but i don´t have opportunity to lead. He is very very very very outgoing and beats the American every time. So i just really want to keep improving myself here in the mission and i didn´t want to be left behind. It was nice being able to explain my preoccupations with pres. Well then we traveled back to Teixeira and got home at midnight Thursday morning.

I worked normal Thursday and Friday feeling basically normal but a little tired. Elder Ramos never asked me anything about it, and i don´t usually complain. Friday morn i had another blood test to check my progress. And i received a phone call from sister vecchi that night restricting me from working because i got worse! My platelets level is super low and had gotten worse.

So i passed another weekend drinking a ton of water and resting, trying not to die. This morning i had another blood test done and i am waiting the results agora. If i don´t get better right now, i will be on a bus going to Salvador to be attended to by better doctors. I really don´t want to have to go to Salvador for medical reasons!

Basically that is my whole week. The only funny thing is that the doctor caring for me in teixeira works at a hospital called hospital femina. And i thought i was going to a hospital feminina. Femina is apparently a name, and feminina means feminine. Haha i did not want to go to a woman hospital!
