I totally remembered this week, and i hope that your birthday was the best ever. I sent a letter home for you that i was writing last week and i also baptized a man Sunday morning for you. hahaha... I am kidding, but your birthday was really special even here! Haha
So
It is a long and awesome story. There is a man named Luiz, he has been
investigating the church for about a year. And he goes every Sunday without
fail. But he was so shut about baptism and everything. I have been working with
him with Elder Valença this whole transfer. Something that i am learning in my
mission these last few months is that the Lord will reveal to us what to teach.
So this Luiz guy had been taught everything twice or three times. The strategy
has been, discover what he needs. haha He started making progress 2 Sundays
before yesterday when he asked about authority and we were able to teach about
the priesthood again. He is one of those men that it doesn´t matter if you have
taught it 8 times, he´ll learn it when he wants to. Well he was finally ready
to learn.
Then
last Sunday i challenged him to be interviewed for baptism and he accepted the
challenge. He did not accept to be baptize, we were putting a lot of faith on
the interview. Because of some preexisting issues in the 4 question in the
baptismal interview Luiz had to be interviewed by Pres. Andrezzo, who just so
happened to be coming here this weekend. So a quick call to President set up
the interview perfectly.
Haha
if you have to bet on someone, your Mission President is a safe bet.
Well
the interview happened Saturday night after the fireside with Pres. Andrezzo,
and it last like an hour. When they left the office there in the church the
only thing that President Andrezzo said was, We'll have you chose who you want
to baptize you? Haha it was such a miracle! We´ve been fighting for this guy
for so long. It was just incredible to have this happen.
Well
Senhor Luiz chose me to baptize him and so Sunday morning we had a baptismal
meeting. And it was cool to have my Mission President there. Haha
Anyways
i hope that your birthday was awesome mom. And that everyone else is doing
great, I am ready for the conference tomorrow. It has been so long since we
have had a conference and i will get to see a lot of missionaries tomorrow. All
of the missionaries out of Salvador will go to Itabuna tomorrow. So i will see
a lot of my friends.
