8 April 2013

Well what a weekend. I love conference so very much! Something that was good, i didn´t get trunky or homesick or anything. Last conference was so great that i got a little worked up to see Utah and the Apostles! haha But this conference was better. I got to watch the priesthood section in English which was cool. It is so much better in English! Haha

But the week was full of normal adventures. There is a giant Gypsie compound here in Buerarema and we ventured on to it this week! Haha they are really friendly people. And for the most part they are normal. But it was funny to get out there and teach them a little bit. All the Gypsie women wear big and colorful dresses. Haha and everyone always jokes that they just steal like crazy! That was pretty funny.

Another funny thing that we saw this week, we have a family of investigators that have a parrot. And the boy was showing us how the parrot will dance if we want it to. So i took a video of the dancing parrot. It was pretty funny. I tried to send some pictures home but the computer isn´t liking my camera. Sorry!

But Elder Warner and i are having a blast and we are working so hard. I have worked hard my whole mission. But i know that i have never worked so darn hard my whole life! Here in Buerarema the members got a little bit left during conference. So we had a mini meeting here on Sunday hours before the session in Itabuna. We had a pretty good turn out for church, regardless. We did it because the people aren´t really in conditions to travel to Itabuna to watch conference. And no one has the internet or a computer in their house. But it worked out alright. And 2 members from Buerarema went to Itabuna all by themselves to watch conference. It was sweet.

On Sunday after the last session we called on the bishop and had a meeting with him about Buerarema and goals we could make to help its growth.

There was a talk in conference about that group being opened, and the 16 year old kid going to church and being the only member cause no other members went that week... haha i could relate. As you know i am assigned currently to a group, usually we have more like 15 members there at church, but every once in a while there are those Sundays that only have a couple. And it is so hard!

We are working with a couple people who are planning on being baptized this next weekend. So i hope everything goes well! One is a man named Emerson, he is 19 i think. Haha on Sunday we had our special meeting right? Well it was really early in the morning so we went and woke Emerson up by jumping on his bed. haha it was pretty funny. Then there is another rapaz preparing to be baptized named Roberts, but he goes by Robinho. He is a quieter kid, and really humble. And he lives with his aunt. Both really great people who will help the church grow.

Well i love you guys so much! In response to dad´s questions. Some bug did bite me in the leg, it is fine. Don´t worry about it. It has a little ´sickness´ that makes it take a while to heal but it scabbed over fine and has been healing. No problems. I made sure of it with a medical person.

Also, i have yet to hear from the secretaries about my exact leaving date information. They called like a month and a half ago and asked where i was flying home to. So that they could buy the plane ticket. So naturally i told them to fly me to Fort Worth, Texas. haha Seatac. They sent my other companion his flight info way earlier than me. I still don´t have anything. But the secretaries are spazzy. Haha! My leave date is the 23rd of May. I should get home around midday on that Friday of that week. That seems pretty pattern to all Americans going home.
